As previously mentioned in the “good stuff happening” post, we are mining the studio hard-drives for choice morsels of sound; these morsels are then moved to our studio archive where everyone is welcome to explore, listen, and/or collaborate.
2008-02-29_Part1 (37:43) - Grubles : a supergroup (in their eyes…)
Grubles is an example of what’s great about having our own studio space: the occasional free-for-all jam. Like the annual New Year’s Eve parties, this was an open-house-family-style-play-whatever-instrument-is-available melee. Most of you may not know, but, Grubles opened for the Grateful Dead at Betty Nelson’s Organic Raspberry Farm in ‘68.
More info and other offerings over at Earfuzz, and, after the jump.

One of the things I’ve really been enjoying lately is digging up Ryan’s drum machine explorations. He pulls some tasty grooves out of his trusty Boss DR-202 “Dr Groove”. Dig those on-board effects. I’ve started campaigning for an hour+ extended reel of solo drum machine works by Ryan Raffa; if you are in favor, please sign the petition at the next Mugs show.
2006-11-27_OH_05_1239573_1301536 (0:22) - Big Naturals
This 22 second clip is indicative of the 22min piece from which it is taken which is indicative of the 4 hour+ rehearsal from which it was taken. Before the Come On In The Water’s Warm EP was hammered into shape, the Big Naturals spent hours trying different riffs on for size. Of course, one riff leads to another and another… next thing you know it’s 4-5 hours later and you’re not sure if you can hear any more.

just bring the delay box, and i am in!
